Football season starts tonight. I'm excited to see my baby cheer and eat some pepper bellies. Yeah, Fridays are junk food nights for a couple of months. I am also excited for ths 3-day weekend. I have no plans after the ballgame. I need to clean a lot and I plan to finish making a scarf and maybe do some real cooking. We've been eating a lot of stuff that is pretty quick to cook. I want to really cook and maybe bake. I also want someone else to clean the kitchen when I'm done but that part ain't happening! Have a great Labor Day!

Agnes
Here are a few picture from Blue & White Night at school last Friday night, one of J & me Saturday morning volunteering at Schnuck's for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society, one of her new haircut, and two on the morning of her first day of 10th grade (at her friend's house but I let her go there on the condition that somebody would take a picture for me). Look in the first picture--she's the only one doing it right! lol
I have finished projects!
YAY!!! I've become a felting fiend! Here is my teapot cozy (being modeled by a kettle at Ed's house) and a little bag that was supposed to be lunchbag-sized and ended up perfect for the yarn for one or two projects for Knit Night. You can see three projects sticking out of the bag--a drop-stitch scarf, my new sweater, and another felted bag.

The crap we put in our bodies
Julianne took this picture last night (Wednesday) with her phone. It is a picture of "sidewalk art" that she and her bff, Lindsey, made last Friday out of Cool Whip that they found in L's dad's fridge. It has rained twice since then. I know I won't be consuming any more Cool Whip (prefer to actually whip cream anyway) and neither will these two girls!

Awwwwbrey
I get to babysit my niece, Aubrey, for the weekend and I’m so excited! Her parents (my brother, Ed, and his wife, Denise) are going out of town to celebrate their anniversary and Abby & I are going to stay at their house. I’ve never watched Aubrey before. I can’t wait. I think we’ll have a lot of fun hanging out. I’ll finish her doll blanket tonight and maybe we will bake bread together. She’ll have fun doing that—kneading the dough and seeing it rise and then eating it. Maybe I can set her up with her own knitting needles and yarn to do her own thing so I can knit my projects without “help”. They have some pretty young kittens (gotta get Elvis fixed) and I can’t wait to get my hands on them! So, I’m sitting here daydreaming about the fun things I plan to do with Aubrey when I suddenly realize that I am the spinster aunt who comes to stay when the parents are out of town—complete with knitting bag and baking supplies and little lap dog. I just have to pinch her cheeks and leave lipstick marks on her face. I’m a rebel, though, and might have just enough Uncle Buck in me to keep it interesting.
Update with pictures! That's her new doll blanket with the kitty ("Blackie") wrapped up in it.
