Happy Thanksgiving!!!

We are at my mom's getting ready to go to my brother's house to eat. My tummy is growling! I hope we can eat soon after we get there.

I guess I didn't blog about it, but my office was closed last Thursday. I'm unemployed. I hate it! They opened the St. Louis office, hired me, and then got distracted before they hired any architects. I sat there alone for two years with nothing to do except play on the internet or read. I'm not complaining but I was feeling pretty isolated. I think they opened other offices--New York, Princeton, and Tampa--at the same time and had to focus a lot of attention on them. The lease is up and instead of renewing they are just shutting me down. Dang! I've gotten spoiled there! I posted my resume on monster.com before I unplugged the computer to pack it up (had been on hotjobs and sending emails out already). A gal from a recruitment agency found me there and sent me on an interview with a CPA firm as I have some experience there. It sounds like a great position. The location is awesome and I know I am qualified for the position. I'm worried about rent, the gas bill, and Christmas. I really don't want to take a few weeks to find something new. I want to work TODAY. Everyone who reads this please pray that I can find something very soon.

Our Blue Devils did not win their last state playoff game. They had a heck of a season, though, and we are so proud and still so excited for the record that they have this year. Also, we know that they will kick some serious tail next year!

A couple of pictures from the phone

Julianne got a new cell phone over the weekend. She didn't need one. I just bought her one in February and she picked out the one that she wanted. I'm still using the free one that came with our plan over three years ago. It's a pain in the neck but I wouldn't buy another until it just stops working. Julianne wants a Blackjack, though, and her Uncle John bought her one. She's pretty proud of it, too! I inherited the almost-new one that I bought her. I lost all of my ringtones (and I had accumulated some great ones over three years!) but it is a much better phone. It's so much easier to text-message. My 6-key was stuck on the old one and you had to mash the heck out of it. Of course, MN & O were on that key and they're important letters! This phone also "flips" and that's fun. I can't get the hang of the very cool flip-thing like they do on the Razr commercials. Julianne tried to teach me but I end up flipping it across the room. Maybe the coolest feature of the phone is the camera! I'm a picture freak so it's right up my alley! It doesn't take good pictures at all but at least I always have a camera on me. Here are the pictures that are on there. I messaged them to myself so I can delete them and start over! The first one is the ocean at Dauphin Island where Julianne went on a class trip last year. The next one is her with her bff, Lindsey. The others were Sunday at Wal-Mart when I couldn't stop playing with it!

We won!!!

We beat Herman 22-7 last night. Our football team is 11-0. They play Missouri Quarterfinals Monday at Crystal City on Monday. We can beat them. They're 10-1 and we're the one. We ruined their Homecoming earlier in the season. We're taking two pep busses again and I know we'll have a HUGE and very LOUD crowd! I didn't see Julianne one time at the game last night. She had left her cheer shoes in her locker and apparently Uggs are not acceptable footwear with her uniform so she had to sit out. At least she had warm feet! I sure didn't. I've gotta break down and get warmer shoes! And a cowbell.

Julianne's football team ended their season Friday night undefeated. We couldn't be prouder or more excited. It was an away game at Herculaneum, MO, which is a little over an hour away but I think our crowd was bigger (and much louder) than the home crowd. We took two pep busses (I was on the one with the cheerleaders) and a lot of folks drove. We froze our heinies off but we had a ball. Nobody can say we don't have school spirit! There were parents with cowbells and one mom with a trumpet and confetti that she threw whenever we scored. We finished first in our division. Sectional playoffs start tonight. It's supposed to be a homegame but we don't have enough stands for the fans so it will be at CBC. We're playing Herman. They beat our guys in this same game last year! They won't this time! Gotta go. I have to find a cowbell.

I fulfilled a New Years resolution!

I learned to knit this weekend. FINALLY! I've wanted to learn FOREVER! I bought a kit at Wal-Mart called I Taught Myself Knitting but my mom was with me and she really taught me. Julianne picked out yarn for a scarf (ugly Pepto-Bismol-pink yarn). I'm about a third of the way done. I'll post a picture as soon as she finds the camera. I'm so excited! My next project is doggie sweaters and then a Cyndi sweater. YAY!!! I want nice wool yarn for my sweater. I like natural fibers. I'm off to find where to get it now!
