I found a place that makes swimsuits suitable for JuJu--modest yet fashionable: http://www.ahiida.com/index.php?a=results&subcat=65 . It's about time! Read the testimonials! These are almost as good: http://www.wholesomewear.com/page-4.html !

I don't have good photo-editing software anymore. I have PhotoShop Elements but I can't manage to install it. I had it on my last computer with no problems so I wonder if it might not be Vista-compatible. PaintShop is my very favorite but my trial ran out and I've been too broke to pay for it. I have an older version on my old hard drive and I'll check to see if the setup file is still on it, too, so I can use it until I can pay for the newest one. Paint is fine for cropping or resizing but that's all. I downloaded a new one this week--FotoFusion, I think. It was free, but I paid $9.99 for the better version of it. I opened it for a minute yesterday morning and it looks like it's more of a scrapbooking thing than a picture thing. That's cool. I noticed something called auto-collage and played with it. I had a party creating this and it only took a minute!

My mom just called me from my brother's house. She's birthin' babies. Jim & Bridget adopted a german shepherd, Sierra, a couple of months ago. She's about a year old. One morning Bridget let her out to potty and she...uh...made friends with a gorgeous and HUGE solid white Siberian husky. She just had the first puppy. She just dropped it and walked off leaving Granny to warm it up. Grandma said that the first one is solid black with a little white spot. I could hear it crying for Mama. She didn't want much to do with it. I think she'll be more maternal when she's done having them and settles down. I wish I was there to watch! I've been fascinated with babies--of all species--since I was one. I'm very glad, though, that I don't have to try to give them away! They're going to be BIG and HAIRY and there will probably be a bunch of them!

Julianne is going to Bates Creek today. She's going with the church where I grew up. She's so excited! I am, too. She knows some kids from that church. She went there for a few months in elementary school and was baptized there. She went to camp with them the first year that she went but has gone with her cousins since then. All of the youth group at her cousins' church have jobs this year and they aren't going. She'll have fun getting to know her old friends again. I went to camp with their parents a loooong time ago. I can't wait until she gets home to tell me her stories!

Poor, poor Abby!
The indignities that the poor thing puts up with! The baby talk. The playing dress-up. The doggie dance recitals. Etcetera, etcetera. We're lucky she's so tiny!
Last night she snuggled up to my side and I idly rubbed her belly while I read The Hound Of The Baskervilles (appropriate, huh?). I felt a matte on her and put the book aside and reached for the scissors to get rid of the matte. The problem is that I can never seem to stop cutting once I begin. It usually starts with a few little snips when the hair on her face grows in front of her eyes and ends with her whole head a messy chop-job. I can't get it nice and even with scissors. We used to have a shih-tzu named Katie that suffered through the same thing. Katie & I got snowed in alone together once and our heater was broken, but it was New Years weekend and there were no repairmen available. The two of us were confined to one room with a space heater. By the end of the ordeal poor Katie was bald. And traumatized. For the next three years she would sneak off to her kennel whenever she saw scissors in my hand. We wouldn't see her for hours when I did needlework. Anyway, I set out last night to rid Abby of one matte and I trimmed until she started heaving. I think she got too warm. She's a mess! There's a bare spot on her nose. One ear looks longer than the other. She has little tags sticking out all over that will bug the heck out of me until I get them. I'll have to catch her first. Poor baby!

My new baby sister
My brother, Jim, married his girlfriend, Bridget, last Thursday night. They had a small ceremony with her kids and both of their moms. I hope they have many happy anniversaries!
